Govt should stay away from RCA factional war

New Delhi, Feb 02: The BCCI said the state government should stay away from the factional war in the Rajasthan Cricket Association and let the body resolve the matter on its own.

Rajasthan Cricket Association chief and BCCI vice-President Lalit Modi is facing accusations of financial misappropriation from a rival RCA faction led by its secretary Subhash Joshi and was even questioned by the police.

The BCCI said the government should not interfere in the matter and let the RCA handle the issue by itself.

"We are against the interference of the government in cricket matters. As far as RCA is concerned, the issue should be settled within the domain of the association and its members," BCCI Media and Finance committee chairman Rajiv Shukla told reporters.

"The state government should not interfere and we are solidly behind the RCA to resolve their issue within themselves," he added.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had yesterday denied interfering in the RCA, saying the law would take its own course if any financial misappropriation had indeed taken place there.
